What area does your research focus on?

My research builds on my computational biology and bioinformatics background and focuses on methods and tools development pertinent to human genetic diversity and admixture with the objective of uncovering the role of genetics and environment in determining the risk of and susceptibility to disease.

What are the other key aspects of your role?

I recently developed a new programme on MSc Genomics Data Sciences to be launched soon. I provide thesis and dissertation supervision, large-scale genomic data hands-on workshops, and guest lecturer. I am a member of the Race Equality Steering Group, at Northumbria.

What do you like to do outside of work?

Out of work, I spent time at home with my kids and wife. I like dancing, playing guitar, and walking. I like sports such as boxing (practicing often) and football.
