What area does your research focus on?
I am primarily interested in language acquisition and bilingualism. I have specific interests in word learning, language processing, and the role of language in cognition. More broadly, I am interested in infant and early child development. More recently, I have developed an interest in pedagogy within a higher education context, with specific interests in student engagement and outcomes and diversifying and decolonising the (Psychology) curriculum.
What are the other key aspects of your role?
I currently co-lead the first- and second-year psychological research methods and statistics modules. I also supervise UG and MSc/MA dissertation projects. Externally, I serve on the editorial board for the Journal of Infant and Child Development.
What do you like to do outside of work?
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time on my own catching up on drama series and variety shows (in my own language, Cantonese, and also in Chinese and Korean), watching movies, and sleeping (no, not all at once!).
