What area does your research focus on?
My research focuses on the mechanisms of fatigue associated with exercise performance and how these are modulated by sex differences and different environmental conditions. I am also interested in the recovery from damaging exercise and specifically the recovery from unilateral injury.
What are the other key aspects of your role?
I am the departmental Head of Research and Knowledge Exchange which involves overseeing the strategic direction of research activity and how this aligns with university objectives. Within the department, I support the development of research for my colleagues who are at differing stages of the research journey.
What do you like to do outside of work?
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my wife and two young daughters. I am also a keen gardener and sports fan.
What do you think you could particularly offer mentoring support with?
- Developing the research journey.
- Understanding the potential impacts of different research.
- Balancing time and workloads.
- Presentation and visualisation of data.
